Got my NTL 3meg connection this morning.

Well, NTL have just started to install their broadband service across waterford. There is a major difference between this and what I had before (Eircom's 2meg service). I didn't think the 3meg was coming into effect until the first of June but it already has in my case.

I've taken a screen shot of my speed test for you guys.



I'm pretty damn pleased.

Here are the ping results also.

It was hard to give on eircom with that miserable 128k upstream.. I'll be seeding alot more often now

There is nothing illegal about torrents.. but their forum, their rules. No biggy. I just wanted to illustrate my download speeds.

Nice upload speed, 128 upload sucks, so hard to keep BT ratio's etc

They have upgraded my 750kbps service today too. Download upgraded but upload still at 128kbps - hopefully it'll go to 200kbps soon.

So this is my latest test result:


And this is the Cable Modem Info page showing that I'm now on 2Mbps/200kbps:


The trouble is the 131kbps upload I'm actually getting is well shy of the limit of 200kbps. I really hope this improves!

i heard the end of june from bray from a guy who was fixing my cable back in feb. although he could of been/possibly was talking through his arse. although he seemed sound enough compared to the other pleb's we've had out.

i hope they upgrade soon i'd love a 3meg connection. and i can't get ibb in bray either

Anybody know what "Round Trip Time" means on the IrishISPTest applet?

Cranoo's image shows 10ms and Mutant_Fruit's says 4516ms - some difference and they're both on IBB. Mine is about 5000ms.

Does it make sense then that it 5 seconds (!!!) for some peopel and 10 ms for others?

I don't notice any particularly poor performance.

I tihnk it was just a temporary hickup on their side. My pings are generally <10ms for irish sites and <25 for UK.

Just checked the IBB site - €35.99pm for 1 Meg..........ouch!! Although there is an equivalent upstream, I, like most users, am only interested in the downstream. NTL 1 Meg €25pm.:eek:

Yes it sure is, I was sending a file to my friend yesterday and it was uploading at 38kb. It's very stable.
